Retrospect of the ANWR - Future Forum on 29.11.2016
The ANWR Group called - and many showed up. More precisely: 800 guests, a large number of them entrepreneurs from the shoe, sports and leather goods industries, as well as exhibitors and service providers, who presented the latest trends and software developments for the digitalization of retail.
Thus, in four exhibition halls of the ANWR campus in Mainhausen, top-class expert presentations and discussions on the "journey of the customer and the goods in an increasingly digital world" were on the agenda.
How can retailers use the digital transformation to their advantage? Which tools make the path of goods from the producer to the point of sale more efficient? How do you combine key technologies such as RFID and shoe retailing? And what is particularly important in the footwear and leather goods industry?
Harald Dittmar, CEO of syspro, also addressed these and other questions at the panel discussion on digitization for the retail industry of the future. Harald Dittmar sees a top priority in getting customers from online stores back onto the sales floor and confirms that the shoe trade in particular has the best prerequisites for this: "People prefer to put on shoes. Those who order on the couch send a lot back again."
A precondition for this, however, is to have the right goods on the floor at the right time. RFID offers a high level of reliability for inventory transparency and for the possibility of organizing replenishment in good time. But the technology can do even more. By obtaining master data in real time, it is possible to provide pleasant customer experiences such as recommendations: "Because you know what the customer currently holds in his hands."
The enormously high number of visitors from the footwear industry already gave an idea of how great the interest in these topics of the future is. However, the initiators of ANWR had perhaps not expected that the Mainhausen Forum would be such a terrific success: many were still extremely impressed during the event and quite a few saw the event as the start of their journey into the digital world. syspro will also start with the first workshops on this topic before the end of the year.
