The Soest Athletics Center (LAZ) has become an established address in German athletics - which is also due to the fact that the pole vaulting facility is very popular with athletes and they always like to come back for this reason.
Therefore, the German Athletics Association has repeatedly appointed the Soest Pole Vault Festival as a nomination competition for an international junior championship. This refers to the European Athletics Championships for the U20 age group in Boras, Sweden, from July 18 - 21, 2019.
Even if the final decision on which athletes will be allowed to compete in the national jersey seven weeks later has not yet been made at the competition on June 1, the competition will be an important assessment for the vaulters. In addition to the European Championships standard competition, LAZ Soest will also be hosting a school jumping competition and the junior competition for the Carlo Schaper Memorial Prize at the eighth edition of the Pole Vault Festival.
